It was just yesterday Playlist was talking about Joe Wright’s “Anna Karenina,” wondering if it would be hitting the Venice Film Festival in advance of its fall release, and lo and behold, it seems the marketing campaign for the movie is beginning to roll out.

The first stagey poster and trailer for the movie that by the looks of it, this is going to be a dazzling affair. Wright has taken the unusual step of shooting the majority of his Russian epic, based on Leo Tolstoy’s famed novel, on and around a single location, a run-down theater built from scratch at Shepperton Studios outside London. The various images from the film have already pointed toward something that will be a massive treat for the eyes, and this is a further tease at Wright’s grand plans for the film which look to immerse the viewer in the story in a wholly unique way.

Starring Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Macdonald, Olivia Williams, Ruth Wilson and Holliday Grainger,”Anna Karenina” opens in the U.K. on September 7th and in the U.S. on November 9th. Check out the full poster below. [Glamour/MSN]
