Three new TV ads for Anna Karenina – about 20 to 30 seconds each
Opened Sept 7th in the UK
Focus Features has released a very elegant six-minute clip of “Anna Karenina”. Showcasing a high-end ball for a group of socialites in late 19th century, the long sneak peek focuses on Keira Knightley who’s attracted to a man she meets during the formal event. Due to her flirty attitude, Knightley’s on-screen husband Jude Law must warn her to behave more properly since everyone in the upper-class society thinks that she’s cheating on him.
“Anna Karenina” unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting and powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Knightley’s titular character questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.
The first stagey poster and trailer for the movie that by the looks of it, this is going to be a dazzling affair. Wright has taken the unusual step of shooting the majority of his Russian epic, based on Leo Tolstoy’s famed novel, on and around a single location, a run-down theater built from scratch at Shepperton Studios outside London. The various images from the film have already pointed toward something that will be a massive treat for the eyes, and this is a further tease at Wright’s grand plans for the film which look to immerse the viewer in the story in a wholly unique way.
Starring Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Macdonald, Olivia Williams, Ruth Wilson and Holliday Grainger,”Anna Karenina” opens in the U.K. on September 7th and in the U.S. on November 9th. Check out the full poster below. [Glamour/MSN]
