A Discovery of Witches – S2

Sky has revealed the first look at the second season of their popular series A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES together with the names of new cast members! The first season followed a witch Diana (Teresa Palmer) and vampire Matthew (Matthew Goode) who jumped over to the 1590 London in order to protect her and for her to develop her powers in Elizabethan

The 10episode season airs next year on Sky with the 3rd season already ordered

England. Steven Cree joins them as Matthew’s nephew Gallowglass De Clermont, a vampire and soldier of fortune, while James Purefoy will be Matthew’s stepfather Philippe De Clermont, commander of the Knights of Lazarus. Barbara Marten will play Queen Elizabeth and Tom Hughes is playwright Kit Marlowe. Sheila Hancock will be elder witch Goody Alsop, with Paul Rhys as Andrew Hubbard, the vampire ruler of London. Michael Lindall is Sir Walter Raleigh!


Diana’s beloved aunts, Sarah and Em (Alex Kingston and Valarie Pettiford), must take shelter with notorious witch hunter Ysabeau de Clermont (Lindsay Duncan) at her ancestral home Sept-Tours, while in Oxford, Marcus and Miriam take on Matthew’s mantle to protect daemons Nathaniel and Sophie, whose pregnancy is advancing. And Gerbert, Knox, Satu and Domenico are determined to hunt down every clue they can to Diana’s and Matthew’s disappearance, and the secrets their allies are keeping from them.
